Steven Garcia is a professional photographer based in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area, with a diverse portfolio spanning portraits, weddings and events, sports, corporate/commercial work, performing arts, automotive, and editorial photography.

His work has appeared in a wide range of publications and digital media both online and in print, including The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, Star Tribune, ABC News, Forbes, The Athletic, L’Équipe, New York Post, St. Olaf Magazine, International Trumpet Guild Journal, Edina Lifestyle, and Minnesota Bride, among others. Steven has collaborated and worked with corporate brands, private and public universities, major arts organizations, and nonprofit institutions. He also previously held positions at St. Olaf College, Walser Automotive, and serving as Photo Editor of The Olaf Messenger.

Steven is a contract photographer with Cal Sport Media and ZUMA Press Wire, and contributes to NurPhoto Agency. As credentialed media, he has photographed major sporting and news events across Minnesota, including MLB, MLS, WNBA, PWHL, PGA, US Olympic Trials (Gymnastics), USA Hockey, USA Soccer, Red Bull, and NCAA Division I sports and championship events. His photography has received multiple honors in ZUMA’s “Pictures of the Day” and “Pictures of the Month.” He is a member of Diversify Photo and the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).

In addition to his freelance work, Steven works as a part-time Production Assistant and Team Photographer for the award-winning Vick Photography Studios in St. Louis Park, MN.

Beyond photography, Steven is also an accomplished trumpet player active in the Minneapolis–St. Paul music scene. He performs in a variety of settings including orchestral, jazz, chamber, musical theatre, and contemporary music ensembles. He is the 2nd Trumpet of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Manny Laureano and has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, Rochester Symphony, DalekoArts, Artistry Theatre, VocalEssence, and the La Crosse Symphony, among others. Steven holds a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from St. Olaf College.

In his free time, Steven enjoys hitting the road in search of scenic drives and the next great food truck.
